I got word from the agency with the b-mom who is now in jail that she has sent a letter with the agency 1-800 # on it to her. That way she can call if she doesn't have the 1-800 #. She was supposed to receive the letter by this afternoon. But when can she call? Will she get a phone call this weekend?
John hasn't said I could, but I offered (disclosing that my husband hadn't given full permission) to go to wherever she is in jail and meet with her. I would LOVE to have this baby, however, I would be willing to go meet her just to keep this baby from going to the state! NO BABY DESERVES TO GO TO THE STATE!
I did find our that her other six kids are in state custody! This baby has to go to a family from the star that will keep her. I would LOVE for that to be our family, but I don't know if that is God's plan! I am open and willing, but there are some definite doors that would have to be opened for that to happen.
So please just pray for this birthmom! God will know who you are praying for! Pray that she makes an adoption plan for this baby, pray that she and this baby are kept safe...and selfishly, pray that she is ours! On that note, pray for unity in the P-tree house hold!
I definitly don't understand God's ways, but you can't say the Chrsitian walk is boring! ha!

roller-coasted, indeed! And might I add...I am officially jealous. ; ) Just teasing! I can't wait to see what plans God has for you!
Praying for your family and the birth mom of this precious little one. What an exciting (albeit rollercoater like)time as you see God's will unfolding. What a blessing to both this birth mom and her unborn baby though to have you and others praying for her at this time in her life.

Oh, HollyAnn. I feel as if I'm on this rollar coaster with you. The anxiousness, nervousness, confussion, excitment and abundance of love you are feeling right now! I'll be praying for you...clarity, peace and unity! You'll know. And you may know this weekend! Oh, how your stomach must be in knots! Love you!
WE must also pray that first this poor woman recieves the care and help she needs so that she may untilamtely be the mother that she is. Our prayers should be that she is healed in a way that allows her to be the mother of her own children. Praying for a pregnant mother to give away her baby before praying that she is helped in a way that allows the baby to stay wither her mother seems premature to me.
Anonymous - first of all, I am always a little intrigued when people will not sign their name to their comments...secondly, you do not know the whole of this story. This mother has six other children that are currently in the state system. You also obviously do not know me and my heart for birth moms and fathers. Yes, we do need to pray that she meets Jesus or make him Lord if she alraedy knows him, and if I get to meet this dear woman, I will make sure she has that opportunity! But there is also the life of a baby at stake! A precious life that deserves a chance at a stable, balanced life despite the choices of adults. It is just this thought pattern that has millions of children in the US Foster system that have been there for YEARS because the laws are written to protect birth parents and not children! I love them both, but the baby is helpless, the birth mom is not.
Those who are close to me know that I actually started the process to open a maternity home for women such as her (and placing your child for adopiton was NOT a requirement!). So I do care for this birth mom, but my reason for asking for pray for the baby is so that she is protected during this time as well!
Thanks for commenting and giving me the opportunity to express my love of the women who chose to give their children a better life....the most selfless decision they will ever make, and I will forever be indeted to Noah's mom for that!
wow,
I am surprised by your reaction! I didn't mean to make you defensive at all. I thought we were talking about prayer here not the politics of foster care or adoption system. I was simply talking about prayer. I don't agree that this woman is not helpless if she finds herself in this situation perhaps with out the right support she is. I make no distinction between the lif of a baby and the life of an old woman. a life is a lif, a soul is a soul and everyone deserves the same amount of love support and help. If you do make that distinction you will misunderstand my repsonses, that is all. In Gods eyes that unborn baby is as imprtant to God as his mother. I try to see it that way to. That isn't to say that I wouldn't pray for the baby to be put into the right home if the mother cannot take care of her. But I would always pray first for the family to be reunited and supported. You wrote about believing in miracles that could move people to give you 20,000 in 24 hrs but why dismiss the possibility that this woman could be moved to change? Honestly I am not picking on you, I am a lot like you in that I strive to understand the higher purpose and try to be sure that I find a balance between following what God asks of me and deciding that the thing I want are what God wants too. It is so easy to confue the 2. I never use my name on line because people aren't as quick to blow off what you think if they do't know if you are a man or woman or what color or creed you are. I like to exchange ideas from the spirit alone.
Ok, anonymous, lets take your view...not trying to be argumentative here, just wanting to look at all angles! Lets say she should try to parent. A lady is pregnant for nine months, correct? So she has had at least nine months to get it together to keep this baby and raise her in a healthy home, correct? So how long should a person have to have their life together to raise a child? I am all about rehabing people! I am all about second chances! I agree we need to pray for this woman's healing, but we also need to be intelligent about reality and what this baby needs. Obviously this is not her first offense since all 6 of her kids are in custody. So how long would you give a parent to get it together? Just curious to know your answer! Hope you respond!
You continue to miss my point! Most likely you and I agree on the politics of the whole thing though I believe the system to be flawed in manydirection as I am sure you do. I was talking only of prayer there is no sake of argument with prayer. I was talking about miricles which you yourself claim to see everyday I was simply asking that the spiritual community pray for a miracle for someone else too. Do think it is likely she will rehab? No. DO I think with Gods help and prayer she can rehab YES! I believe everyone deserves another chance as we all have things we are seeminlg powerless over. Her's are more glaring but they are no more weaknesse than you and I and every other person carries. Your post was asking us to pray for the woman to make an adoption plan and then you asked us to make a selfish prayer for you to get the baby. I just don't think prayer should be selfish and since you invited us all ( spiritual blog reading community) to join you I didn't think you would take offense to another perspective. You write as if you are open to hearing truths, I didn't think it was only to your own. I apologze if I hav offended you. My intention was to join you in prayer as I know it.
Thanks for replying! First, let me assure you that you have not offended me. Took me a little of gaurd, but not offended. I believe discussions like this is how iron sharpens iron and to shy away from them could mean missing a growth point. And if you are going to put your thoughts/life out there for the general public, you have to be prepared at some point for someone to question you.
Having said that, I think maybe you have missed my heart and intention also. Yes, I want miracles in EVERYONE's life. That is why on that post, I asked for everyone to post their miracles. I don't know if you read all the posts about thie situation, but I have actually been praying for this young woman since April. I have prayed protection over her (not just the baby), I have prayed that God would provide someone in her life to be Jesus with skin on. So I have done exactly as you have suggested. My post was only where I am now with concern for this baby who might go into state care. That doesn't mean that I don't have concern for this woman, or that I wouldn't desire her to parent children at a later time. She is the one who contacted the adoption agency, so at some level this is her desire, not just my selfish desire. And if you read the post, you will see that I am willing to go talk to her even if it is for another family to get the baby. I just want to be there to be used however I can be. That is my intention and my heart, I am sorry you didn't hear that come through.
And as far as selfish prayers, the Bible says we do not have because we do not ask. I believe that when GOd places a desire or dream in our heart, he is not offended when we pray those "selfish" prayers that align with His will. I don't know if this is His will or not, but I do know He has placed it in my heart, so I don't think He minds me praying for it.
And just so you know, your original post did make me examine myself and see if I was off base on my request to see if I needed to post another one in apology or confession. After prayer, I believe GOd knows my heart and He was just fine with my post. But you made me question and examine, and that is never a bad thing! Thanks for commenting!
